Maruia School is located in the heart of the Maruia Valley and is made up of nineteen students, seven staff, six board of trustees members, a fantastic PTA and an exceptionally supportive community.
Our vision is to realise each child’s unique potential so that they may find success. This is shown by the way we work together as a school and community to support our students to thrive while in our care.
We learn about our school values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, arohatanga and whanaungatanga and practise these every day. These values are the backbone of the culture of our school.

Please make sure you’ve checked out our latest newsletter for important information for both Kākārūai (junior students) and Pīwakawaka (senior students).
The newsletter also includes everything you need to know about switching over to Hero for all student communication.
From now on, please use Hero to notify us of student absences.
We’ll be setting up bookings for our beginning-of-year conferences on Hero later this week - keep an eye out!

The Murchison Show is on this Saturday!
There’s a new event this year especially for primary-aged children, running from 10.30am–12.30pm, with plenty of prizes up for grabs. There will also be lots of other activities and attractions happening throughout the day.

I’m just touching base as I need to confirm final numbers for our camp activities so I can lock in bookings and finalise the overall cost for everyone.
